Amal Johnson Joins Fast-Growing Market Research Firm
Mill Valley, CA - July 12, 2005 - MarketTools, Inc., a leading provider of full
service market research, announced today that Amal Johnson has joined the
company as Chief Executive Officer. A seasoned leader of successful technology
and services organizations, Ms. Johnson will be responsible for guiding the
vision and strategy that will allow MarketTools to continue its impressive
growth. This marks another milestone in the company's growing leadership
position within the market research industry.

About Amal Johnson
Amal Johnson has more than 20 years of management and
operational experience with technology and services companies. She understands
intimately the challenges and responsibilities of running and growing a
business, as well as the rewards that can come from building a company of
enduring value. Prior to joining MarketTools, Ms. Johnson was a founding
partner of Lightspeed Venture Partners. During her five-year tenure with the
firm, she focused primarily on enterprise software and infrastructure
investments. Before founding Lightspeed, Ms. Johnson served as President of
Baan Supply Chain Solutions and as President of Baan Affiliates and Baan
Americas, successfully guiding Baan through its initial public offering and from
$60 million to $800 million in annual revenue. She also held the role of
President of ASK Manufacturing Systems, and held various executive positions
with IBM. Ms. Johnson received a BA in Mathematics and Physics from Montclair
College, and completed graduate work in Computer Science at the Stevens
Institute of Technology.
